Anger = natural reaction to perceived injustice
Anger is normally mixed with a number of feelings. That’s why we often struggle to pinpoint what is going on in our experience when anger is involved.
Anger can arise when you feel
🔸Scared
🔸Attacked
🔸Offended
🔸Rejected
🔸Disrespected
🔸Forced
🔸Pressured
Frustration normally precedes anger, but the space between frustration and anger can happen so fast that we find it hard to notice.
You cannot control what you cannot discern.
And contrary to popular belief among Christians, anger in itself is not a sin. God created us to experience a range of emotions and anger is one of them.
Sin would be hanging onto anger, wanting revenge, wishing harm to other/s…
If you would like to embody a way of being that is not dictated by your emotions, it’s necessary to create space in your experience. Space within your own body-mind system. So that you can pause before you fall prey to strong emotions, such as anger.
The main problem is that many of us have unprocessed autonomic responses in our nervous systems. These are looking for resolution and that’s why it keeps on resurfacing at the wrong times. Resulting in confusion and shame afterwards.
You cannot untangle the thread when there is overwhelm.
