A felt sense of safety as a shortcut to well-being
Cultivating a felt sense of safety within yourself will allow your body to self heal and to regulate your emotions more easily.
A body that is constantly in a state of self-protection and hyper vigilance will not have enough energy directed towards healing, as safety is the number 1 priority for your brain and body.
That’s why cultivating a felt sense of safety should come first when dealing with physical pain, chronic illness, overwhelm and when feeling triggered.
It’s good to keep this in mind, as you can prioritise what to do to bring yourself back into a state of health and equanimity.
Incorporating simple practices, such as orienting, grounding and taking a few moments to connect to something outside of yourself that feels soothing to your system, can make all the difference.
