There is no deadline for healing your nervous system

A dysregulated nervous system struggles with relaxation, as it often lives in a state of contraction and urgency.

But if you continue to push, adding a sense of urgency to your healing, the same way your have always done for a chunk of your life; you will continue to invite dysregulation to your system.

I know it’s difficult. We often want results and we want them now. But your physiology doesn’t work with deadlines. Your body needs to feel safe in order to heal.

High expectations, pressure and pushing for specific outcomes does not invite safety. Instead it reminds your psyche and body of a well known state that underlines the, “I’m not good enough.” “There is something wrong with me”, beliefs many of us have about ourselves.

By taking the pressure off and treating this journey with curiosity and willingness to reconnect with your body and your needs; you will gently and naturally start to invite more safety and regulation to your system.
