What is a Deep dive session?
In this session Yara uses the intention method, also known as IoPT. This is an effective method to deal with psychotrauma.
When a person experience any type of trauma, their psyche splits to be able to deal with the extreme stress. From that point on the person starts to develop survival strategies that become part of their personality. These survival strategies and traumatised parts get “stuck” in unhelpful loops, until uncovered, seen, fully felt and integrated.
This method allows clients to get in touch with fragmented parts of their psyche in a safe and gentle way. When the healthy part of the psyche becomes stronger, these fragmented parts start to integrate, which in turn will bring a sense of resolution; enabling the client to make real long-lasting positive changes in their lives and relationships.
Yara has found that using IoPT, together with Somatic Experiencing (SE) and other somatic methods yield great, long-lasting results.
How to prepare for a Deep Dive session?
In preparation to the session you will be asked to write an intention. An intention can be anything you would like to understand, feel, resolve or achieve; anything that is important to you. An intention can be a short sentence, a word salad or a paragraph. All intentions are correct and valid. Please reserve sometime to think about an intention, writing it down and bringing the written intention to the session.
