A few pointers for your trauma healing journey
🔸When healing trauma, specially in the beginning phases, is important to reorganise your life as much as you can, so that you can work towards staying within your window of tolerance.
🔸If you keep on adding more stress to your life and pushing yourself to face unnecessary triggers, you will continue the loop of survival within your system.
I’m not suggesting that you stop living while you heal, but a little self compassion and not adding anymore to your already full and overwhelmed plate goes a long way.
🔸Fighting what IS creates more resistance.
🔸Fighting unpleasant emotions makes them stronger. The aim is not to get rid of the emotions. It’s more about going through the waves of the emotions with self compassion, using your resources, to allow discharge and integration at your body’s own timing and pace.
🔸Accepting where you are at and what your nervous system can handle at each point of the journey helps your body feel safer and more relaxed.
🔸If accepting and allowing/not fighting feel too much of a stretch at this stage of your journey. Simply work towards having some space within your own experience.
Try to observe your patterns. Life is happening and patterns are playing in the background.
Focus on the simplicity of life. On your basic daily tasks. You are breathing. You are alive, here and now.
Somatic healing group is happening this Sunday, the 13th of November. If you are keen to learn some of these principles in a safe space and in an embodied way, you are welcome to join us on Zoom. Link in the bio.
