Moving your body = Moving your emotions
Have you ever tried to make yourself feel better by talking yourself out of a strong negative emotion?
Like telling someone on the verge of having a panic attack: “not to worry it’s all in your head?! “ Or saying to someone who is suffering from depression that: “You have so much to be grateful for, why are you sad?! .”
Although self talk is important and we need to pay attention to the things we think and tell ourselves; consistently working with your physiology helps reshape your nervous system much quicker than any self talk.
🌟Movement supports the shift of unhelpful patterns.🌟
For instance, you probably won’t want to move when you are in a state of shutdown.
But if you apply a little effort (as soon as you notice your body wanting to go into shutdown).
You state is likely to shift almost instantaneously.
Emotions happen in your body, so moving your body will affect your emotions.
