If you think you are not making progress in your healing journey read this…
People sometimes write to me saying that they feel discouraged in their healing. They often share some version of: “ I’m feeling more intense emotions now than before I started my healing journey.”
No one told me this in the beginning of my own journey. I want to share this with you, so that you don’t get too stuck expecting that you won’t feel discomfort and that you will feel good and light all the time.
At some point in the journey we eventually see how disconnected from ourselves and bodies we have been.
In many ways we realise we were also disconnected from reality. The body has survival response such as fight/flight/freeze/shutdown and the psyche creates illusions to survive. As we go deeper, we also come to face many illusions we created for ourselves.
As you start to build more capacity in your system, you start to feel those buried emotions. It’s a sign that you are starting to integrate them.
It may feel uncomfortable, but it’s good news.
Suppressed emotions cause havoc with your immune system and health in general.
It’s understandable that most of us come to this type of work wanting to “get rid” of uncomfortable emotions. But wanting to get rid of them would be the equivalent of getting rid of parts of ourselves that have been isolated for a long time.
With more capacity in your system, these parts that were forgotten are now ready to come out and play. They just need to be seen, deeply felt and integrated.
