Somatic healing

Self protection is a healthy and brilliant mechanism. It’s inbuilt to keep you alive.

When your nervous system detects threat it will choose to fight/flight/freeze/fawn/shutdown, then when the threat is gone it goes back into homeostasis. This is a reflexive (unconscious) decision taken by your body.

Fight/flight/freeze/fawn/shutdown are not the “bad guys”. They are part of the natural rhythm of expansion and contraction.

These self protective responses are meant to be short term. The problem happens when the system is “stuck” in this state, finding threat where there is no real threat, because it has been living in a state of chronic stress and/or unresolved trauma.

We heal by discharging these old fight/flight/freeze/shutdown responses from your system and showing the system how to feel safe again.

The same way you have an inbuilt self protective response, you also have an inbuilt self healing mechanism.

Once we work in a precise manner with your nervous system, your body start to reorganise to bring in supportive patterns. Allowing the possibility of ease, joy and deeper connection with life and others.
