Stillness and silence can feel overwhelming for a nervous system that has been living in a state of survival

Give yourself a couple minutes to pause every day. This can be literally 5-15 minutes spread throughout your whole day.

You can do this …

🌿 By pausing and listening to the sounds around you (birds, cars, wind blowing, children playing outside, lawn mower…)
What sounds can you hear?

🏃‍♂️ Whenever possible pause a few minutes before your meetings, instead of walking in in a rush.

📱 When you want to fill the silence with music, social media or TV - pause for 3 minutes instead. Notice your body, observe your breath, then continue with your plan.

These few minutes throughout your day won’t freak your nervous system out and:

🌻 It will show your system that it can feel centred even amongst a lot of activity.

🌻 It will also help you build capacity to face life’s challenges.

🌻 It will show your body that you are able to feel safe in all types of situation.
