Trauma healing journey pointers
You realised you have unhealed trauma that needs addressing and you are in the healing journey.
Now you see that:
🌿 You need to be gentle with yourself, as you realise that your unwanted behaviours were a form of self-soothing. An attempt to regulate your nervous system.
🌿 Your overeating habits were linked to trauma and that’s why all your previous attempts to force yourself into the trendiest diet didn’t work.
🌿 Now that you feel more IN your body you feel your emotions much more strongly and this sometimes can be scary. But you realise this is just a sign of healing. Being dissociated from your body caused you so much trouble. Better to be IN than out.
🌿 You feel your “gut feeling” very intensely and this at times feels like dread. But there is no cause for concern. This is a good sign. You have disconnected from your gut for too long. Your sense of self “sits” in your gut. To reconnect with this area of the body is part of the healing journey.
🌿 You are feeling better overall, but at times you feel even worse than when you first started.
This is also part of the healing. Releasing a few layers of suffering can feel liberating, but when you start accessing deeper hidden layers you can feel worse again. Self compassion and patience is needed on this journey. You body has been holding onto to a lot for a long time, now it can finally release, self regulate and heal, and for this to happen many layers will need to be accessed.
🌿 You will have to do some work on your close relationships. The dissociation, confusion and pain you felt before affected your relationship with everyone around you.
🌿 The more your nervous system unwind the more you feel like yourself.
A sense of solidity, resilience and “I can do attitude” start to show up more often.
🌿 Your life force was trapped underneath chronic stress and trauma. Now you can start to let go and live according to who you were creates to be.
