Trauma is not simply a psychological phenomenon
It’s true that the mind makes a story about it, as it tries to put things into a framework, so that you can find ways to move forward with life, but there is so much more to it.
Making meaning is part of the mind’s job , but trauma happens in the body and that’s why talking and trying to understand all the circumstances around the trauma/s is not enough to provide relief.
If the aim is to integrate the “outdated” reactions and old patterns, that keep on replaying in the present moment, we need to address the body, where the traumatic memories are stored.
When trauma get “stuck” in your biology it eventually becomes physical symptoms and when not addressed it can turn into chronic conditions.
