12 advantages of Somatic Experiencing (SE) to resolve trauma and chronic stress symptoms

It started with 5, then I struggled to stop myself to cap it at 12. Here it is! ☺️

🔸It’s an organic method. It doesn’t force your body to do things it wasn’t designed to do.

🔸It’s gentle. It works underneath the survival strategy layers, without pushing against them.

🔸It teaches you to be comfortable in your own skin and it helps you tolerate difficulties that can show up in daily life.

🔸It helps to “discharge” incomplete autonomic responses (fight/flight/freeze/shutdown) from your system.

🔸It’s a non new age method. Very grounded, pragmatic and works directly with the body and nervous system in a tangible way.

🔸It helps your nervous system to reorganise in ways that will yield long lasting results.

🔸There is no need to have conscious memory of all events in one’s life for it to work.

🔸It invites more resilience, capacity and flexibility to your system.

🔸It educates your awareness to recognise different autonomic states within your body, in real time.

🔸it helps you make better choices in the moment to support your system to self-regulate.

🔸It can be done without sharing full details of an issue or stressful event, thus it’s perfect for those of us who struggle with trust and sharing private information.
